OVERVIEW
Threading is a method of hair removal originating in Asia. In more recent times it has gained popularity in Western countries, especially with a cosmetic application. Threading is used for eyebrow, full face, upper lip, chin, sideburns and cheeks.
WHAT TO EXPECT
In threading, a thin (cotton or polyester) thread is doubled, then twisted. It is then rolled over areas of unwanted hair, plucking the hair at the follicle level. Unlike tweezing, where single hairs are pulled out one at a time, threading can remove short lines of hair. Results from threading may last anywhere from 2-6 weeks depending on your rate of hair growth.
BENEFITS
It’s extremely sanitary and great for people with trouble brows. No chemicals are applied and it’s very fast.
POTENTIAL DOWNSIDES
It is painful if not done by an expert.
