COOLSCULPTING OVERVIEW
The CoolSculpting procedure involves fat cells being crystalised through extreme temperatures, causing them to die and be reabsorbed into the body, and then eliminated. This is also known as cryolysis. This is achieved using a machine that sucks and places a “sack” of frozen materials placed in the targeted area such as “a muffin top”, outer thigh or even a double chin.
WHAT TO EXPECT WITH COOLSCULPTING
A consultation and a choice of areas. It only takes one session. The machine is attached to large bag of cooling material that is controlled by a regulating machine.
A jelly is smoothed onto the target area, then a nozzle sucks in loose skin while freezing it. This proceeds for about an hour. The sensation, though not unpleasant, is generally described as uncomfortable. Effects are usually seen within a day and last 3-4 months.
BENEFITS OF COOLSCULPTING
Anecdotal evidence of on average a 30% fat loss in the treated area.
POTENTIAL DOWNSIDES
Bruising can occur and take a week or so to resolve. The procedure isn’t suited to very overweight people - it only works on stubborn localised fat.
