Traditional bridges uses crowns (external mouldings over a tooth) to create the bridge, Resin bonded wings made of porcelain or other substances is adhered to the sides of the neighbouring teeth (The abutment teeth). A cantilever bridge is needed when there is only teeth at one side of where the bridge is to be placed.
WHAT TO EXPECT
After cleaning and clamping the mouth open the dentist will prepare the neighbouring teeth by shaving and shaping them to allow a crown to be placed over them. Impressions are made to be send on to be made in to a bespoke bridge. In the interim a temporary bridge is worn. More visits will need to be made to cement the bridge in place.
It fills in teeth without having to get implants
